About

I’m a cognitive scientist, writer, and photographer currently living in Fife, but originally from Hednesford in Staffordshire.

After a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Cognitive Science at Sheffield University I went on to complete an M.Sc. in the same subject at Birmingham University. In 2006 I received a Ph.D. in goal-directed behaviour from the Computer Science department at St Andrews University. My most recent research looks into the dynamics of predator-prey interactions.

My fiction writing draws on my scientific background along with my interests in power and pop culture, as I explore futuristic worlds and Utopian possibilities through novels, plays, and sketches. Some of my work has been performed at The Byre Theatre and other venues, and can be found on my YouTube Channel. I also blog on mind, power, and pop culture.

In my photography I aim to capture the beauty of nature, the legacy of history, and the joy of pop culture. Do check out the Facebook page dedicated to my photography. Many of my photos are available on merchandising websites including 500px, RedBubble, Zazzle, and ImageKind.

In my spare time I play guitar and write songs and continue to dream of rock stardom. I’m a big sports fan too and keep myself fit by running regularly.
