Hednesford Hills were looking fine this week in their autumn colours. Although the last purples of the heather were fading away there were new golds and reds to appreciate under the blue skies. During my walk I came across a wonderful fly agaric mushroom (Amanita muscaria). It would be unwise to eat this distinctive red and white mushroom – which looks like something from a fairy tale – as it can cause sickness and delirium.
