Here’s one of my favourite images of the heatwave. It was taken a couple of weeks ago on the West Sands in St Andrews where a group of tourists had invented a new sport that I’m going to call Baby Baseball. The game seems to mix elements from a variety of sports and uses a small football tossed, softball style, towards a small goal that appears to stand in for cricket stumps. The batter has to hit the ball using a tennis racket then run around the three bases and back to home plate for a run. Oh yes, and the pitcher and batter have to do this whilst each holding a baby.
There were a dozen or more people involved in the game.
