Some remarkable silver horses have been spotted in St Andrews. Created by Andy Scott these 3m kelpie maquettes were used as models for the much larger kelpies to be found in Falkirk. Standing 30m high the latter are the largest equine sculptures in the world.
Set on the Bruce Embankment, next to the British Golf Museum, the kelpie maquettes make an impressive sight. One has a tiny man staring up at it perhaps giving the impression of what it would look like for a real person to stare up at one of the larger works.
Meanwhile the second horse throws back its head and screams at the sky. We’ve all had one of those days.
